I live in a house that is located in what was the park of one of the many embassies that once graced the former capital of Germany. Especially during the summer there are a lot of bees and bumble bees visiting the lavender bushes. This is an excellent opportunity to get some beautiful images of those diligent fellows.
One may think that photographing such a clumsy bumble bee is an easy thing but in fact you only have a second until it buzzes of to other petals leaving you behind wondering how to focus it more quickly.
I used the Mamiya 120 mm Macro to capture the images during the evening
and morning hours. This is an extraordinary lens that produces a
beautifully clear image and the manual focus allows you to work accurately and quickly even while shooting without a tripod.
