Jewish cemeteries are marvelous relics from a time when numerous communities flourished throughout Germany enriching the intellectual and cultural life of our country.
Today those sites have mostly been abandoned and fallen into a state of an almost mystical slumber.
It is always a very special experience to visit such places and let oneself be engulfed by the silent memories of what has long passed away. This is especially true during the change of seasons.
In this case I revisited an especially beautiful place near Xanten / Rhineland.
More to follow.
